Have the children open their Bibles to Genesis 18:ane-15. To help them find it, use the following questions. Answers are in italics.

Have the children take turns reading parts of Genesis 18:one-15 (NIRV) aloud to the residual of the class.

ane The Lord appeared to Abraham near the large trees of Mamre. Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent. It was the hottest time of the day.
2 Abraham looked up and saw three men continuing nearby. He quickly left the entrance to his tent to meet them. He bowed low to the ground.
3 He said, "My lord, if you are pleased with me, don't pass me past. four Let a little h2o be brought. All of you can launder your feet and balance under this tree.
five "Let me get you something to consume to requite you strength. Then you lot can go on your way. I desire to do this for y'all now that yous have come up to me."
"All right," they answered. "Go ahead and do it."
6 So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. "Quick!" he said. "Get nigh one-half a bushel of fine flour. Mix it and bake some breadstuff."
seven Then he ran to the herd. He picked out a choice, tender calf. He gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it. 8 And then he brought some butter and milk and the calf that had been prepared. He served them to the three men.

9 "Where is your wife Sarah?" they asked him.
"Over in that location, in the tent," he said.
10 Then the Lord said, "You can exist sure that I will render to you almost this time side by side year. Your married woman Sarah will have a son."

Genesis 21:1-7 Discussion:

  • God did just equally He promised.
  • Sarah gave nativity to Isaac.

  • What is the longest that y'all have waited for something that you really, really wanted?
  • Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 years old when they finally received what they had wanted.

Use the following activities to reinforce the learning goals. If time is short, movement on to the evaluation portion of the lesson plan.
Activity: Expect and Go (a.k.a. Red Light Green Calorie-free)
"During our Bible Story today, nosotros learned that Abraham and Sarah had to wait a long time to have a babe. Does anyone recall how old Abraham was when Isaac was born? (allow for responses) What almost Sarah, how old was she? (allow for responses) Abraham had to expect until he was 100 years old and Sarah had to wait until she was 90 years old to accept a babe. Activity: Bible Verse Memorization
"Merely God said, Sarah your wife shall deport yous a son indeed, and you shall call his name Isaac." Genesis 17:xix (Amplified Bible)
Take the children exercise the following paw motions along with repeating the words after you, to aid them learn the Bible Verse:
